Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, we have made a wide array of safety enhancements to our space, our interactions, and our operating procedures at Island Massage Therapy.
Consistent guidelines have begun to emerge from CDC, WHO, OSHA, Florida Department of Health, as well as our professional organizations; AMTA, ABMP, ISPA and FSMTB. We’ve followed all their recommendations to craft this list of safety enhancements for Island Massage Therapy.
You can expect:
Contact-less Payments. All appointments must be prepaid with a credit card. The last credit card you use with us is automatically kept in a secured file in our software system for future purchases. This means you can upgrade your session or purchase products without having to take out cash, checks or cards at the reception desk.
Mandatory Face Masks or Coverings. Everyone must wear a mask or face covering at all times while in our office. We’re serious about protecting all of us. If, as a client, you’re uncomfortable wearing the mask while face down during a massage; we can arrange a breath-catcher under the headrest. We practice good mask hygiene at all times including paper bags for mask storage while in the office, and use of hand sanitizer after handling a mask.
Health Screenings. Every time you enter our office, we’ll check your temperature to make sure it is under 100 degrees F. We will also ask you several questions about your potential exposure to anyone with Covid-19, and any symptoms of Covid-19 you may have had in the previous 72 hours.
Purified Air. We’ve added large room air purifiers to all treatment rooms. Each air purifier has both HEPA and UV filtration, and is rated to clean 400 square feet of space. (a treatment room is about 100 square feet of space). Plus we’ve had the air ducts cleaned and have installed professional grade HEPA filters in the system.
Touch-less Experience. We’ve designed your visit to our office to minimize your need to touch anything you didn’t bring with you. We’ll be opening the front door for you when you arrive and leave, we’ll be setting out all the items you might need during your massage (water, hand sanitizer, tissues, etc.) Further, we’ve installed touch-less water faucets in the sinks.
Secure Environment. EVERYONE visiting our space will be wearing a mask or face covering, undergoing temperature and health questions and limiting their time in the common areas. We’re working hard to make sure you don’t encounter anyone other than your therapist while in our office. Additionally, we will not be allowing walk-in customers, waiting inside, office tours, or extra people to attend sessions. Our office is reserved for therapists and clients only.
We are 100% committed to the health and safety of everyone in our community. We are working hard to make sure our office the safest place you can visit outside your home.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement as we implement these new practices; we look forward to seeing you on one of our tables soon!
