What is your current Covid safety protocol?
As a Florida Licensed Health Care Establishment, we are required to follow CDC guidelines for health care. Currently CDC requires the wearing of masks when providing or receiving health care; plus social distancing in all health care settings. Additionally, we do health screenings during our appointment reminder process, as well as thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the treatment rooms and office.
What kinds of massage do you provide?
We are Therapeutic Massage experts who also do blissful Relaxation Massages. Additionally, we offer Reflexology, Sports Massage, Reiki, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Ashiatsu, Thai Yoga Massage, Movement Therapy, Prenatal Massage; plus a full line of skin care & body treatments.
What type of skin care and body treatments do you offer?
We have a variety of nourishing Facials available; plus Body Wraps, Body Scrubs, and Waxing. Additionally, you can schedule a Facial/Massage Combination session, or a Facial/Body Wrap Combination session.
Do I have to undress?
It depends on the service you’ve chosen and your comfort level. If you’re getting a Facial, you’ll just need to remove upper body clothes. If you’re doing a Thai Yoga Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Movement Therapy or Cranial Sacral treatment, you’ll remain fully clothed. It is recommended for anyone getting Therapeutic Massage to undress fully, as long as you’re comfortable doing so. If you’re more comfortable wearing underwear, we’ll work around it. Keep in mind, you’ll be covered at all times, only the area being worked on will be exposed. And the breast and genital areas are never exposed.
What about tipping?
It is customary to tip when receiving massage and skin care services, if you’re happy with the professionalism of the service provided. Generally, most clients tip 15-25% of the service price. At Island Massage Therapy, we do not collect tips thru our office software; all tips are between the client and the therapist. Most therapists prefer cash tips, although some are able to accept electronic payments.
When are you open?
We see clients 7 days per week. However, our office is open by appointment only. Our reception desk is covered from 10-3 Monday – Friday. If you need assistance or have questions, please call our office between 10-3 M-F.
How often should I get a massage?
At a minimum, once a month! Every BODY benefits from a once a month ‘maintenance massage’. If you have chronic injuries, you’re recovering from trauma or are under high stress; you’ll want to get massaged more frequently. We have many clients who come in weekly; some who come in every two weeks, and a most of the rest get a monthly massage. However, feel free to pop in once in a while, if that’s what your schedule allows.
How often should I get a facial?
At a minimum, once a month. In addition to your daily skin care routine, Facials should be thought of as skin maintenance. With the strong Florida sun, and the stress of daily life; a once a month re-nourishing, rehydrating and repairing of your skin will keep you looking and feeling your best. If you have previous skin damage or injuries, more frequent facials may be recommended.
Do I need to book in advance?
It’s recommended you either book a standing appointment or rebook your next session before leaving. Our business has big seasonal swings, and even holiday swings. Once you find a day/time that works well for your schedule, it’s highly recommended you schedule a standing appointment to avoid the frustration of not being able to get in with your preferred therapist at your preferred time.
Do you sell Gift Certificates?
Yes, we have Gift Certificates available in any dollar amount. Gift Certificates can be purchased online HERE. Or they may be purchased in our office.
Do you sell other products?
Yes! We feature a full line of Nature Pure skin care products including cleansers, creams, masques and serums. Plus we sell a variety of pain relieving topical products and equipment. Finally, we do sell CBD cream and serum.
